Definitely one of the best "Epic Collection" books I own. The saga if Iron Fist is pretty much complete here, missing only the first "Marvel Team-Up" where he meets Spider-Man, but it includes his second appearance in the series since that is where the Steel Serpent saga finally ends. From his first appearances in Marvel Premiere to the complete run of his own series, the stories here are great and the artwork is amazing. John Byrne was one of my favorite Marvel artists, and his work on Iron Fist shows you why. The stories do get a little familiar as they wear on (martial arts killer/assassin seems unbeatable, Danny summons his iron fist and the guy goes down in one blow) but there is actual growth in the characters, which is something you miss in a lot of modern books. You even get the first appearance of future X-Men baddie Sabertooth.I have a lot of the "Epic Collection" books, but I have to say this one is one of the best. The stories it collects are perfect for any first-time reader of the character, and there isn't that awkward "What are we doing here?" stumbles you read in a lot of books that are just starting out. This is a very even collection of stories that completes the early Iron Fist saga. Very disappointed already returned copy with folds on cover and warped pages at bottom of book. These are no no's for a collector.new copy had exactly same problems, maybe whole batch is bad.
